NIAGARA, Wis. — An online fundraiser has been started for a husband and wife who were seriously injured Sunday in a Niagara mobile home explosion.
Debi and Joe Henrichs live in the Milwaukee area but have a seasonal mobile home off Payette Road in the town of Niagara, said Brittany Conery of Norway, who set up the gofundme.com account.
Both people suffered severe injuries, including burns, but are expected to survive, according to an online post from the couple’s daughter. They were taken to Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson in Iron Mountain and then flown to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Conery said.
Joe Henrichs told emergency responders he was trying to light a propane furnace that had gone out before the blast, which was reported at 8:50 a.m.
A neighbor across Payette Road, Debbie Payette, said the blast blew out windows in her home and caused extensive structural damage to both the house and several outbuildings.
Two dogs did not survive the blast, according to WTMJ in Milwaukee.

The mobile home was a total loss and a garage and its contents severely damaged, Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve said.
Debris was thrown across both Payette and Bombers roads and the blast was heard as far away as Kingsford, roughly 10 miles to the west.
The explosion remains under investigation but foul play is not suspected.
The couple was reported by the sheriff’s department to be in their 50s.
