Kellstrom, Neuens win Florence board seats
Unofficial results from contested races in Tuesday’s spring election in Wisconsin showed a Florence County Board supervisor retaining his seat, while another challenger was successful.
In District 6 in the town of Florence, incumbent Charles Kellstrom turned back Jim Gehlhoff, 82-17.
In the race for the District 3 seat, incumbent Cynthia L. Nichols was defeated by challenger Jason Neuens, 29-16. The district covers parts of Aurora and Commonwealth.
A total of 403 votes were cast across the county as all other county board candidates faced no opposition.
Elected to the Florence County Board of Education were incumbent Jim Churchill and newcomers Matt Brooks and Jessica Frost. There was no opposition for the three open seats.
In Marinette County’s District 1, incumbent Supervisor Roger Allen of Niagara defeated former board member Gilbert Engel, also of Niagara, 106 to 64, unofficial results showed.
In Marinette County’s District 3, incumbent Bill Stankevich of Goodman edged challenger Thomas A. Oldenburg of Amberg, 176 to 161.
Challenger Kenneth Hanson of Pembine unseated Clancy Whiting of Beecher in District 4, 98 to 52. In District 6, incumbent George Kloppenburg of Amberg was unseated by Hank Novak of Wausaukee, 213 to 146.
