MARQUETTE — A 50-year-old Marquette woman was killed in a traffic crash Friday on U.S. 41 at the intersection of County Road AKE in Champion Township near Michigamme, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office said.

Tara Gluski was a passenger in a westbound SUV that appeared to turn into the path of an eastbound pickup truck at about 3:30 p.m., deputies said. She was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.

The driver of the SUV and a second passenger were transported by ambulance with serious injuries. Poor weather was believed to be a factor in the crash, the sheriff’s office said.

The driver of the pickup truck had minor injuries.

Assisting were the Michigan State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, MSP troopers, U.P. Health Systems EMS, Champion Township Fire, West End EMS, Michigamme Township Fire and EMS, Marquette County Rescue Unit 131 and Anttila’s Towing.
