ANNE MARIE LARSEN

IRON MOUNTAIN — Anne Marie Larsen, 69, passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2023, at her home in Chico, Calif. She was born on April 21, 1954, in Iron Mountain, to the late George and Ardis (Satava) Larsen.

Anne Marie was a graduate of Niagara High School, St Norbert’s College, and Michigan Tech University. She was a Rotary Scholar, was fluent in Spanish, and studied abroad in both Spain and Argentina.

She spent several years teaching at Finlandia University in Michigan, and at Butte College and California State University in Chico. She was also a gifted fiber artist, carpenter, and interior and landscape designer. But especially, Anne Marie loved dogs. She fostered and parented dozens of rescue dogs.

Anne Marie is survived by her California family, Julie and Gary Estep; two brothers, Mark (Joanne) Larsen of Iron Mountain, and Eric Larsen of Plover Wis.; one sister, Ruth (Rich) Steeno of Niagara, Wis.; five nieces, Elizabeth (Jon) Faust, Victoria (Cassidy) Hart, Katelyn Steeno, Karen Larsen, Leah Larsen; one nephew, Andrew Larsen; and twin great-niece and -nephew, Vivian and George Hart.

In accordance with her wishes, Anne Marie’s ashes will be returned to the earth to nourish a pre-selected tree in the Redwood Forest.
