POWERS — Archie Louis Brigman (Snuffy) Jr., 80, of Powers, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, under the care of Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.
Archie was born on July 12, 1943, in Chicago, to the late Archie and Allie (Meekins) Brigman Sr. He honorably served the United States Navy onboard the USS Isle Royale supporting the Vietnam War from 1962 to 1966.
He is survived by his son, Raymond Brigman; daughter, Cindy Brigman; grandchildren, Amy Teeple, Sarah Brigman, and LeAnn Smith; great-grandchildren, Navaeh Teeple, Jason Teeple, Jackson Teeple and Macie Teeple; brother, Marvin “Tippie” Brigman and Phillip “Butch” Brigman; and sisters, Barbara Cifelli and Patricia “Patsy” Passamani; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen “Eunice” Haack and Jenny Bindon.
Archie was not a lover of school and spent many days hiding in the woods during the day. While he was much too busy for school, he was a smart man, and with a 9th-grade education, he achieved his Master Plumber’s license and continued to develop his own plumbing and heating business – rightfully named “Archie’s Plumbing and Heating.” Archie had a big sense of humor; he loved to make you laugh and found pleasure in teasing his nieces and nephews when they were young. He enjoyed the outdoors and moved his family from Chicago to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 1977 where he spent countless hours hunting and fishing.
A Celebration of life will be held at noon on on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 at the American Legion: 212 Washington Ave. in Iron River, Michigan.
Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Iron River.
