Ronald Keith Slagle

Ron was born in Morenci, Mich., on Nov. 3, 1945, to the late Raymond and Luella (Oyer) Slagle. He graduated from North Central High School in 1963. On Jan. 26, 1974, Ron was married to Paula (Anderson) in West Unity, Ohio. As a young man, Ron started developing his strong work ethic while helping his brothers run Slagle Farms. After moving up north he took a position as a machinist with Customer Metal Fabrication, but his favorite work came later in his life as the owner and operator of Paradise Resort. In his earlier years Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked to watch college sports, particularly his favorite team, Ohio State. More recently he loved spending time with his family and taking trips to the casino. Ron could be very stoic, cracking a joke while giving you the shirt off his back, while internally shouldering a tremendous amount of suffering and responsibility.

Ron will be greatly missed by his wife, Paula; children, Alison (Matt) Karpinski, Jason (Jennifer) Slagle and Susan (Jeff) Steinbrecher; grandchildren, Alaina, Tyler, Trevor, Cody, Justin, Lauren, Ashley and Jeffrey; brothers, Kenneth (Doris) Slagle and John (Teresa) Slagle; a sister-in-law, Brenda Slagle; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Marie Slagle; brother, Roger Slagle; and an infant brother, Richard Slagle.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
