IRON MOUNTAIN — Terrance “Shine” M. Champeau, 72, of Iron Mountain, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, Wis.

Shine was born July 20, 1951, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Joseph and June (Deau) Champeau. He graduated from Niagara High School, Class of 1969, and married Sally Hohman on Jan. 22, 1983. He worked at the Niagara paper mill. He was a musician and enjoyed sailing.

Shine is survived by his wife, Sally; three sisters, Cheryl (Terry) Sweig, Debbra Tauriainen, and Mary Flatka (Bob Anderson); brother-in-law, Bill (Pam) Hohman; sister-in-law, Laurie Champeau; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Champeau; a sister, Nancy Champeau; father-in-law, Leonard Hohman; mother-in-law, Evelyn Hohman; a sister-in-law, Karen Schultz; and three brothers-in-law, Wayne Schultz, Clyde Tauriainen, and Bill Flatka.

The family would like to thank the staff of Maryhill Manor for the excellent care they provided to Shine over the last four years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shine’s memory to Family Ties Adult Center in Iron Mountain.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Matt Reusch officiating. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
