William J. Revord
IRON MOUNTAIN — William J. Revord, 68, of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson in Iron Mountain.
Bill was born Dec. 22, 1957, in Munising, son of Wilfred and Darlene (Doucette) Revord. He graduated from William H. Mather High School in Munising in 1976 and the police academy at Northern Michigan University. He married Pamela Oien on Feb. 14, 1981, in Norway.
Bill served as a lieutenant for the Iron Mountain Police Department and worked there for 25 years. He was on the CIRT Team, served as the hostage negotiator, and was a founding member of the U.P. Substance Enforcement Team. Bill was an active member of the community, serving on Iron Mountain City Council as mayor pro tem, as well as the Iron Mountain School Board and Brownfield Committee.
After 9/11, he started the America United Campaign, which sent supplies from all across the Upper Peninsula to the police and fire departments of New York City. He created the Neighborhood Partnership Program, which helped reduce blight in Iron Mountain and Kingsford.
After retiring from the police department, Bill and his wife opened The White House Tavern and Grill, which allowed him to marry his passion for food, drink, and politics and continue to nourish his community. He loved to be able to provide live music and a great meal. He often worked holiday evenings himself so his staff could enjoy time with family and so community members never had to be alone.

Above all else, Bill loved his family fiercely. His beloved wife, “Pammy,” his daughters, and his grandchildren were his world. Nothing brought him greater pride than being a husband, father, and grandpa. Bill loved to hunt, opting for the convenience of hunting from the window inside of his camper. He loved to dine with his friends, build things in his shop, and kibitz with his friends at B&B Tire. Among his favorite occasions were the Fourth of July in Munising and Sunday Funday, a day in which he would host friends and family on his patio for drinks and all-day appetizers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; his four daughters, Lindsay Swindle of Clarkston and her daughter Hope; Holly DeGroot of Iron Mountain and her son Riley; Dani Revord of Iron Mountain; and Gabrielle (Eric) Chapman-DeMarinis of Minnesota; two sisters, Iris (Joe) Ninis of Waukesha, Wis., and Sheila Revord of Anthem, Ariz.; a brother-in-law, David Feldhusen; in-laws Cindy (Tony Campbell) Vivio, Brenda Chartier, Laura (Larry) Rice, Shawn (Connie) Duffy, and Patrick Duffy; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his dear friend, Chris Lebo.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kingsford. Father Michael Woempner will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Chapman-DeMarinis, Chris Lebo, Brock Rumohr, Jason Rumohr, Adam Ray and Kevin Barglind.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the William J. Revord Memorial Scholarship fund, which is being established to honor Bill and his commitment to education.
