National Nurses Day Wednesday

Wednesday is National Nurses Day and I would like to offer my sincerest thanks to all the work that you, as public health nurses, do every single day to ensure the safety of our communities and state. You are the unseen heroes who ensure the health of individuals in the places we live, work and play. In these unprecedented times, the challenging work you do is more apparent than ever. Public health nurses are on the front lines to tirelessly provide service to both internal and external customers. Thank you for your commitment to public health and for protecting your communities on a daily basis.

I am so honored to be a part of such a fabulous profession. The state of Wisconsin, I know, must be proud of all your efforts, time and dedication not only now in the midst of COVID-19 but in your regular daily tasks. As a colleague, friend and partner in population health, I want you to know you are appreciated more than you know! If you are interested in learning more about the Wisconsin Public Health Association or wish to receive information about membership, go to the Wisconsin Public Health Association’s website at https://www.wpha.org/default.aspx. Keep on shining, public health nurses of Wisconsin!
