Vote for two senior millages

The upcoming election ballot in Dickinson County will have two separate millages that are extremely important to the seniors and their families: a .25 mills, or 25 cents per $1,000 of taxable value, for five years to operate and maintain senior centers and programs, and a .15 mills, or 15 cents per $1,000 of taxable value, for five years to operate and maintain senior centers and programs.

A person with a $100,000 home with a taxable value of $50,000 would pay $20 in taxes to support our senior population.

These dollars, in 2017, helped to cover the cost of more than 65,000 home-delivered meals, the Family Ties senior day care program, almost 7,000 rides for seniors and many other services.

These programs are administered by Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency. The seniors in Dickinson County and their families need our assistance.

Please vote to renew these important millages.
