‘Office hours’ for LaFave sporadic

EDITOR: Luckily for parents who opposed the mask mandate, state Rep. Beau LaFave was willing to offer his support immediately, without directing them to his “office hours.” Office hours are set times when constituents can meet with their elected official to discuss problems and concerns. The problem with “office hours” is that the elected officials decide when, where and how often these meetings take place. Rep. LaFave’s last office hours were in July. Such sporadic sessions make it hard for people to plan to attend these “office hours” meetings. One wonders if that is ...

Hospital scenario not good if risking severe COVID

EDITOR: As October begins, I have to reminisce about an October 32 years ago. On Oct. 4, I entered St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wis., for a surgery the next day. There was a very good chance that I had esophageal cancer, but going in the doctors were still not positive. There was no MRI at that time, it was just being built between Bellin and St. Vincent hospitals and was not online so with just “scopes” and CT scan available, they had to make an educated guess with the end result depending on what they found when they did the surgery. It was the least-desired diagnosis and ...

It’s time to say ‘enough’

EDITOR: It was a well-attended meeting for the U.P. Patriots, featuring the guest speaker, former WLUC-TV6 meteorologist Karl Bohnak. Mr. Bohnak did a great job of increasing the enthusiasm of the already energized crowd. Much of his speech was about losing his job for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccination. He felt that he could not stay quiet about what had happened to him. In his own words, “Our way of life, our freedom and liberty is collapsing right before our eyes ... It is time to honor those who served. For me, I honor them by saying, ‘Enough.’” It was a very ...

Biden lied about military advice on Afghanistan

EDITOR: I will concede that President Donald Trump exaggerated and even lied at times. My liberal friends argued that he should have been impeached, replaced or had resigned over these nebulous statements. President Biden lied directly to the American people during an ABC interview when George Stephanopoulos asked, “…your top military advisors warned against withdrawing on this timeline. They wanted you to keep about 2,500 troops.” and President Biden responded with, “No, they didn’t. It was split. Tha— that wasn’t true. That wasn’t true.” The President’s top ...

Taking issue with wolf ‘hunt’

The wolves like anything must be well managed but not killed off. The American Indian tribes are Americans and have rights that should be respected, also. To kill off wolves by use of high-powered rifles and shotguns from helicopters and planes is slaughtering. Years ago, there was a motion picture of this type of killing. It showed the blood pouring out of all the pellet and bullet holes in the side of the wolves running across a snow-covered opening until they fell over dead. The public got real upset and the picture was then pulled. Also, the use of night vision equipment, ...

Americans For Freedom March in IM on Sept. 18

It’s time to put politics aside and band together as Americans and let our state and federal governments know WE’RE MAD AS HELL AND WE AREN’T GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE! Our children, seniors, military, law enforcement, small businesses, clergy and law-abiding citizens have been forced to adhere to governmental overreach the likes of which no one has ever seen. Instead of standing up for our constitutional rights, we have continued to bicker amongst ourselves or just shake our heads in disbelief. This has got to stop and we must be heard as a combined force. Please join me on ...
