Patriots effort lacks in defeat to Rebels

PEMBINE, Wis. – Goodman-Pembine dropped a 74-47 decision to Laona-Wabeno in Northern Lakes Conference boys basketball Friday.

Landon Kalkofen scored 19 and Jacob Kessel 11 to lead the Patriots, who fell to 4-5.

“We were easily beat in every phase of the game. No energy, no effort, no focus,” Patriots head coach Jeff Zerbst said. “No excuses, we are simply not playing good basketball right now and we have to get it figured out. That will be our focus moving forward. The effort the guys are putting forward is unacceptable lately.”

Goodman-Pembine tries to right the ship Tuesday, hosting Crandon in Goodman.
