Patriots push by Phelps in OT

GOODMAN, Wis. — The second game in as many nights for Goodman-Pembine produced more positive results, as the Patriots nipped Northern Lakes Conference foe Phelps 57-53 in overtime Tuesday night.

The Patriots were led by sophomore Landon Kalkofen with 21 points and 20 rebounds. Boone Larison chipped in 15 points, while Lamarr Lewis added 10 points for G-P.

Ryan Erickson, a freshmen, sealed the game with a late steal, noted G-P head coach Jeff Zerbst. Kalkofen scored four of the Patriot’s eight overtime points.

Hunter Meistad led all scorers with 22 points for Phelps.

“We did not play our best offensively tonight but we are happy with the two conference wins in two days to start the week,” Zerbst said. “Landon (Kalkofen) carried our team tonight.”

Goodman-Pembine (6-8) travels to Niagara Thursday night for a non-conference matchup with the Badgers.
