CRYSTAL FALLS — In Skyline Central Conference volleyball action Tuesday night, North Dickinson traveled to Forest Park, and slipped past the Trojans 3-2 (25-20,25-20,18-25,22-25,15-5) at the Eddie Chambers Memorial Gymnasium.

“We came out ready to play, our setters were placing the ball in the right places, said North Dickinson coach Taylor Johnson. “Isabella Reimer had a serving run of seven, also in the first set.”

Ashton Hord got more involved in the front row during the second set. Kendra Mayo had two key aces in the set, noted Johnson.

“We had quite the battle at Forest Park tonight,” said Forest Park coach Bobbie Jo Anderson. “Again we started off slow and had a hard time keeping momentum in the first two sets. Finally in sets three and four we minimized our mistakes and started to play more aggressive.”

Johnson added, “Forest Park gained momentum in the third set, and that carried over to the fourth set. We had too many errors and left too many points out there. Vanessa Lindholm had a 9- point serving run, but it wasn’t enough to finish them off.”

“Gracie Peterson and Elaina Perry had a great night, they attacked the ball really well. Unfortunately in set 5 we ran out of energy and therefore our fundamentals fell apart. North Dickinson deserves credit, they stuck with it for five games and pulled together when they needed to most,” Anderson said.

Johnson noted that the serving of Kassandra Cary helped the Nordics regain their momentum in the final set.

Forest Park won the JV match 2-1(26-28, 25-15, 15-12).

The Nordics travel to SCC rival North Central on Thursday, while Forest Park is off until Sept. 24 when they host Stephenson, also a SCC matchup.
