Skyline Conference volleyball round-up

SUPERIOR CENTRAL GETS PAST FOREST PARK

EBEN JUNCTION — In a Skyline Central Conference matchup Thursday night, Forest Park traveled to Superior Central. The home team Cougars defeated the Lady Trojans 3-1(20-25, 30-28, 25-23, 25-20).

First year Forest Park coach Bobbi Jo Anderson was pleased with her team’s performance on the evening, despite the loss.

“We are improving,” Anderson said. “The girls did a nice job communicating and staying focused tonight, but in the end we had too many errors. We had 22 aces but 20 service errors — we need to eliminate those. Too many missed opportunities for us tonight.”

CARNEY DEFEATS NORTH DICKINSON

CARNEY — North Dickinson’s volleyball team traveled to Skyline Central Conference foe Carney-Nadeau Thursday night. Carney defeated the Nordics 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-16).

“We had early leads in both the first and third sets. but weren’t able to hold on to them, said North Dickinson coach Taylor Johnson. “Defensively, we did do a lot of things well tonight.”

Johnson pointed to Ashton Hord with eight digs, and Kassandra Cary, 11 blocks on the defensive side. “We struggled to get anything going on offense, we were out of rhythm due to how strong of an opponent Carney is,” Johnson added.

Johnson noted that, overall, the Nordics team is very young and playing a quality opponent will make them better down the road.

Micha Lindholm, Vanessa Lindholm, Isabella Reimer and Eleigh Stout served 100% on the night.

Tuesday, ND travels to SCC rival Forest Park. Carney won the JV match 2-1.
