IRON MOUNTAIN — Iron Mountain’s varsity football game on Friday night has been canceled after Westwood forfeited the season opener due to injuries to numerous players.

The Patriots’ athletic director informed Iron Mountain athletic director Donny Bianco Monday morning of the forfeiture. The West PAC Conference contest will not be made up.

Bianco said he is actively searching for a new opponent for the Mountaineers to play Friday night or Saturday afternoon.

An announcement will be made immediately if a replacement is found, Bianco said.
