CRYSTAL FALLS — In Skyline Central Conference volleyball action Monday night, Forest Park defeated Munising 3-1 (24-26, 25-17, 25-13, 25-11).

“The first set was one we would like to erase from our memory. We had a 19-6 lead and allowed Munising to climb their way back and win the set,” said Lady Trojans head coach Bobbie Jo Anderson. “Kudos to Munising for fighting until the end of the set and never giving up.”

Forest Park bounced back and won the next three sets in fairly convincing fashion.

“The girls were quite frustrated after the first set and they knew they had to dig deep and work hard to take the momentum from away Munising and they did just that. We minimized errors and started finding the holes in their defense, the girls did great,” said Anderson.

The Trojans hosted cross county rival West Iron in a non-conference matchup Tuesday night. The results weren’t available by press time, and will appear in Thursday’s edition. The Trojans match at North Dickinson on Thursday has been canceled due to Dickinson County schools holding classes virtually.

“I’m proud of our team for staying positive and fighting back after a difficult first set. We have two week left of our regular season and we have only played 7 games,” Anderson added. “It has been a crazy season with many obstacles but these girls have shown resilience and have seized every opportunity. I couldn’t ask for a better group to coach through this unpredictable time.”
