Marquette’s Hamari a playoff replay umpire
NEW YORK (AP) — Marquette native Adam Hamari served as a replay umpire for Major League Baseball’s divisional series round.
Hamari, who has been umpiring in the major leagues for around a decade and became a full-time MLB umpire in 2017, was one of four umpires working out of the commissioner’s office in New York when replays were called for during games. He was joined by fellow umps Brian Knight, D.J. Reyburn and Carlos Torres.
Mark Carlson, Jerry Meals, Bill Miller and Mark Wegner were crew chiefs for the Division Series, the commissioner’s office said. Division series umpires are eligible for selection for the World Series.
