Niagara VB still unbeaten
WAUSAUKEE, Wis. — The undefeated Niagara Lady Badgers volleyball team traveled to Wausaukee Tuesday night. Niagara defeated the Lady Rangers 3-2 (25-20, 21-25, 25-18, 17-25, 15-9) in Marinette-Oconto Conference action, to remain undefeated.
“Tonight Wausaukee was ready to play. They played with no fear and a determination to win. We went five sets with them and in the end, the girls pulled out the win,” said Niagara head coach Carol St. Arnauld.
“We didn’t play characteristic to Niagara volleyball or even close to our ability. We need to come together and play like we started the season, with confidence and assertion. We have a couple of upcoming matches that will challenge us, and I’m looking forward to this team elevating their play,” St. Arnauld added.
Bailey Pearson led the team with 20 kills and 16 digs and Alyssa Cretton had 16 kills and 13 digs. Julia Brown had 14 digs, as did Morgan Borchardt, to go along with a team leading 29 assists.
The Lady Badgers return home for a varsity only match with St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
