GOODMAN, Wis. — Boone Larison led Goodman-Pembine with 23 points and teammate Lamar Lewis had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds as the Patriots improved to 3-0 on the season by defeating the Elcho Hornets 70-59 at the Lavern A. Zimmerman Sports Center at Goodman-Armstrong Creek High School.

“The first half was a back and forth battle, with both team trading hoops. The second half was more of the same back and forth,” said first-year Patriots head coach Joe Nutt. “Then our defense stepped up and closed out the game. The Hornets are a good, strong team and play very good team basketball.”

The Patriots travel to NLC foe Florence for their first road game of the season, on Thursday night.
