Bobcats thump Badgers

Milan collects 23 points, 10 rebounds to lead Florence

NIAGARA, Wis. — Florence cruised past Niagara 79-39 in non-conference boys basketball Friday, led by Patrick Milan’s 23 points.

The Bobcats also got 16 points apiece from Evan Johnson and Dominic DeMuri. Milan posted a double-double, grabbing a team-leading 10 rebounds.

“A few things we want to go back and take a look at,” said Florence coach Bryan Bomberg. “I thought Niagara played tough and scrappy — they never gave up.”

Ty Colenso led the Badgers with 14 points. The Bobcats led 44-18 at the break.

“Florence’s press hurt us,” said coach Steve Derwinski. “Too many turnovers.”

Florence won the junior varsity game 61-32.

On Tuesday, the Bobcats (7-3) will host White Lake while Niagara (3-8) hosts Suring.
