ND girls open with Skyline victory

FELCH — Sophomore Micah Lindholm recorded a double-double of 23 points and 19 rebounds and teammate Ashton Hord canned 21 points as North Dickinson blasted Skyline Central Conference foe Munising 56-36 Thursday night in girls basketball action at the Carl F. Lemin Jr. Gymnasium. “I thought for it being our first game since last season, I was very happy with how we played,” said Nordics head coach Kirk Mattson. “Everyone contributed tonight in different ways and everyone played hard. We had too many turnovers, but for our first game we can fix that.” Mattson noted Hord had six steals and played very unselfish as the floor leader, also noting that sophomore Gabby Schultz played outstanding defense. Munising won the JV game. ND (1-0, 1-0 SCC) returns to action tonight at SCC foe Norway.
