ESCANABA — Bay College will host the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 13 Division 2 men’s basketball tournament this weekend.

There will be a play-in game Friday night, and the Norse (8-14) will play in the semifinals against that winner at 3 p.m. Eastern time Saturday.

Matt Wagner, a sophomore from Marinette, Wis., averages 16.6 points per game to lead the Norse offense. Freshman Marcus Johnson of Iron Mountain has averaged 10.9 points per game in seven games with Bay. Johnson leads the team in free throw percentage at 82.6%.

… The Bay College women’s team (6-10) competes in the Region 13 tournament today, hosting Rochester (Minnesota) Community and Technical College (14-0) at 7 p.m. Eastern time. The Norse roster includes North Central’s Bree Arsenault and North Dickinson’s Hannah Clark.
