HOUGHTON — Iron Mountain fell to Houghton 71-30 in girls basketball Monday.

Ellison Powell led the Mountaineers with 12 points and Anslee Runsat netted eight.

Paige Sleeman paced Houghton with 18 points while Maryellen Trehella sank 15. The Gremlins (5-4) led 32-17 at halftime.

Also scoring for the Mountaineers were Emma Ellis, five points, and Chloe Bianco and Andie Ellis, two points each. Callie Bianco hit a free throw.

Houghton JVs won 64-56. Emma Ellis drained five triples and finished with 18 points for IM, while Chloe Maycroft chipped in 14 points.

The Mountaineers (3-6) host Ishpeming on Thursday.
