Trojans pluck Eagles, 37-35
CRYSTAL FALLS — Despite a game-high 16 points from Stephenson’s Bryce Kuehneau, Forest Park eked past the visiting Eagles 37-35 Tuesday night in a Skyline Central Conference boys basketball game at the Eddie Chambers Memorial Gymnasium in Crystal Falls.
Trojans freshman Gaven Rintala scored a team-high 12 points, while teammate Gavin Johnson chipped in 10 points. Rintala drained three trifectas.
“It was a defensive battle tonight and we were lucky to come away with the win,” said second-year Forest Park head coach Kurt Lehmann. “We fought hard and some younger guys really stepped up. It was great to see us play with the intensity on defense that we needed to pull off a tight game.”
Forest Park, who improved to 4-7 (3-5 SCC) travels to Rapid River on Thursday before traveling to face rival North Dickinson on Friday.
