PEMBINE, Wis. –Florence’s Matt Johnson tied for runner up in a nine-hole Northern Lakes Conference golf match hosted by Laona-Wabeno at Green Acres Golf Course in Pembine.

Florence and Pembine competed in last week’s event, which was won by Laona-Wabeno with a team score of 172.

Reed Christianson of Laona-Wabeno shot a 42 to tie Johnson as runner up.

Crandon’s Tyler Sprink was medalist with a 41.

Pembine, who had four golfers compete in the event, were led by Justus Morrison with a 58. Gabe Seidel shot a 59, Kassy Mazur shot a 60 and Bella Newlin carded a 65.

The Panthers team is not a co-op squad with Goodman-Armstrong Creek.

Florence, who was led by Johnson, was followed by Brock Taff with a 53, Dominic DeMuri carded a 58, Tyler Neheus with a 66 and Dominic Axley with a 73.

The Bobcats will compete at Hunters Glen Golf Course on Friday in a meet hosted by Crivitz.
