Knights, Popp sock Crivitz

CRIVITZ, Wis. — Norway’s Averie Popp knocked in four runs and cracked two triples to lead the Lady Knights past Crivitz 15-2 in a non-conference game Tuesday.

The game, which was a recent addition to the Knights schedule, got started with a lead- off triple by junior Kali Stanchina. Donna Van Holla and Andi Carlson each hit a double for Norway, with Carlson tallying a team-high three hits.

“The girls bats were alive today,” said Norway head coach Bob Bal.

Stanchina, who pitched four innings, and Hannah Burklund who pitched the fifth, combined to fan eight batters, while only walking one Wolverines hitter.

Norway (14-2) is off until hosting Munising on May 20 in a Skyline Conference doubleheader.
