Florence-Niagara girls place 1st

NIAGARA, Wis. — In a Marinette & Oconto Conference triangular track and field meet Monday afternoon, it was the host Florence-Niagara girls who cruised to a 19-point win, while the Lena-St. Thomas Aquinas Academy boys eked past host Florence-Niagara.
F-N girls’ 54.5 points was followed by Crivitz with 35.5 and Lena-St. Thomas Aquinas Academy with 24 at Marvin Roeple Field in Niagara.
On the boys side, it was Lena-St. Thomas Aquinas Academy with 51 points, followed by host Florence-Niagara with 48 and Crivitz with 32. Niagara athletic director Scott Trevillian stated that some events were not held due to a lack of participation and the high temperatures.
Kiera Sullivan won both the 800 (3:03.7) and 1600 (7:33) meter runs for Florence-Niagara. Audrey Seldon won the 100 meter hurdles (17.6), while Emma Brasure won the 200 meters (34.2).
Seldon, Alyssa Cretton, Josie Rock and Morgan Borchardt won the 400 meter relay (55.6) for F-N. Rock, Borchardt, Brasure and Erin Lukowicz won the 800 meter relay (2:00.3) by over nine seconds over Lena-STAA.

Cretton, the Niagara High School girls high jump record holder, won the high jump at 5 feet.
On the boys side, Florence-Niagara’s Corbin West won the 400 meters (57.0), while teammate Jacob Lambert captured the 800 meters (2:38.6).
Blake Smith won both hurdles races for host F-N, 110 (16.8) and 300 (45.7), as well as the long jump (19’6).
Lambert, Matt Bousley, Andar Olson and Andrew Hirn won the 3200 relay for Florence- Niagara (12:20.5).
Florence-Niagara will return to action when they travel to Three Lakes on Monday for a WIAA track and field regional.
