Little League teams in action today at Escanaba and Norway

ESCANABA — The District 10 Little League Majors baseball tournament for 11- and 12-year-olds will take place at Karl Dickson Memorial Field in Escanaba beginning at 11 a.m. Eastern time today.

Kingsford will take on host Escanaba, with the winner advancing to Monday’s championship game at 4:30 p.m. Eastern. The loser will return to Dickson Field on Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern.

At 1 p.m. Eastern, the No. 2 seed , Norway, will take on the No. 2 seed from the Escanaba pre-district. The winner of this game will also return at 1 p.m. Eastern on Sunday.

With the double elimination format, the second championship game, if needed, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Marion Park in Norway will be the sight of the District 10 Little League Minors baseball tourney for 9- and 10-year-olds.

Today at 1 p.m., Iron Mountain will take on host Norway in the final pre-district game. Both teams have one loss, both to Kingsford. The winner will advance to district play as the No. 2 seed.

Monday at 4:30 p.m., the No. 2 seed from the Norway pre-district will play the No. 2 seed from the Escanaba pre-district. The winner will move on to the 5:30 p.m. Tuesday game. The 6:30 p.m. game on Monday will feature No. 1 seed Kingsford from the Norway pre-district versus the No. 1 seed from the Escanaba pre-district, with the winner advancing to Wednesday’s championship game at 5:30 p.m. The loser will return to Marion Park on Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.

With the double elimination format, the second championship game, if needed, is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

For the third time since 2000, Marion Park this year will host a Little League state tournament, which will be a Minors tournament beginning on the evening of July 22 with opening ceremonies. Games will begin the morning of July 23 with the state championship game scheduled for July 28.
