IRON MOUNTAIN — In a Mid-Peninsula and West PAC Conference volleyball match, it was the host Mountaineers defeating Manistique, 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 25-19) Monday night at the Mountaineer Gymnasium.

“Coming off of Saturday’s tournament win in Crystal Falls, the whole team showed up with want-to-play attitudes,” said Iron Mountain head coach Jeanne Newberry. “It was a strong night for our team, and our defensive communication was the determining factor in the match.”

The Mountaineers return to action tonight as they’ll host Kingsford in a non-conference matchup, before hosting non-conference foe Escanaba on Monday.

The jayvee match versus Manistique was canceled by the Emeralds.
