FLORENCE 3,

ELCHO 1

FLORENCE, Wis. — Florence dominated the first two sets for a 3-1 volleyball win (25-12, 25-10, 20-25, 25-10) over the visiting Elcho Hornets on Tuesday.

The LadyCats were originally scheduled to play Phelps, but that game was moved to Sept. 30.

“I have been preaching to the girls to attack and hit the ball,” said Florence coach Teresa Chrisman. “When we are aggressive and hit the ball, the outcome is great. We came out strong in the first two sets and then became too relaxed and complacent in the third. We re-grouped and played our volleyball in the fourth.”

Morgan Tomczak led the way with 19 kills, two tip kills and a block.

“We have been trying new things to attempt to get a more balanced hitting attack,” Chrisman said. “Bella Millan has been making improvements every time she hits the floor. Tonight she came through with some excellent hitting with no hitting errors. Morgan Tomczak continues to be our leader at the net.”

Millan had five kills and 100% serving with 19 serves.

“Maddie Johnson has been improving her set placement and had 21 assists and 100 percent serving,” Chrisman said.

“I hope to keep building and improving every day and hope to just show up and show what we are capable of at the Forest Park Invitational on Saturday,” she added.
