FELCH TOWNSHIP — In a closely contested Skyline Central Conference volleyball dual, it was host North Dickinson who got past a scrappy Munising team, 3-2 (25-10, 23-25, 25-14, 13-25, 15-9) Thursday night at the Carl F. Lemin Jr. Gymnasium.

“We came out looking strong in set one, but Munising came back out for the second set and were very strong at the net and were playing with a-lot of energy,” said Nordics head coach Taylor Johnson. “As the fourth set wore on, we started to getting momentum and it carried over into the final set. We were playing our best at the end of the match.”

The Nordics, who also won the JV match 2-1, host Forest Park on Monday in a make-up SCC match from Sept. 14, before traveling to Superior Central on Thursday for a SCC dual with the Lady Cougars.

“Chrislyn (Inglese) was our team leader tonight and played a stellar game. She was encouraging and giving the team instructions out on the court and was very aggressive overall,” Johnson said.
