ELCHO, Wis. –After winning a tough, demanding game at North Dickinson Thursday, the Florence Ladycats traveled to Elcho on Friday night for their Northern Lakes Conference opener.

Behind a triple-double from Isabella Millan and noteworthy efforts by Kamden Johnson and Kiera Sullivan, Florence closed out the back-to-back with a 66-43 victory over the Hornets.

“With the back-to-back tonight, I thought we came out with great energy after a physical game last night against North Dickinson,” Florence coach Brad Perry said. “We had big efforts from everybody, especially defensively.”

Millan recorded her first triple-double, finishing with 24 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Johnnson scored 17 points and Sullivan grabbed 12 rebounds in her first start.

Perry said he mixed his defenses and that caused Elcho some issues.

“Overall, I was very proud of their effort, especially in a tough environment. If you’ve never been to Elcho, it’s a tough place to play. You can throw the records out when you play there.”
