IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain wrestling team brought a shorthanded group to its home event Tuesday night and dropped a pair of duals to Negaunee and Escanaba.

The Miners defeated the Mountaineers 48-26 and the Eskymos upended the hosts 54-26. Iron Mountain now sits at 8-3 on the season.

“We were shorthanded last night but we were able to still see some good matches,” coach Cory McLaren said Wednesday. “Hopefully we start to get a few back from injuries and illness with the postseason sneaking up on us.”

Leading Iron Mountain with 2-0 records were Shayna Hruska at 103 pounds, Isaac Manier (two pins) at 145, Parker Stroud (one pin) at 152 and Mason Kivi (one pin) at 160.

Daniel Manier ended up 1-1 on the night with a pin at 130.
