NORWAY — Several Norway Knight baseball players earned recognition from the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association for their efforts on the diamond and in the classroom for the 2022 season.

Only juniors and seniors were eligible for the academic honors. Norway players who were honored included (in alphabetical order):

Senior outfielder Nolan Amundson — all-district team and all-district academic

Freshman pitcher Cole Baij — all-district team

Senior catcher Chase Carlson — all-district and all-regional teams

Junior Blake Dishaw — all-district and all-regional academic

Junior Austyn Dwight — all-district academic

Junior outfielder Brent Lagina — all-district team

Junior Isaac Lorenzoni — all-district academic

Sophomore pitcher/infielder Alex Ortman — all-district and all-regional teams

Sophomore infielder Ian Popp — all-district team.

The 2022 Knight team awards were given to: Chase Carlson (MVP), Nolan Amundson (King of Arms), Alex Ortman (Silver Slugger), Ian Popp (Gold Glove) and Michael Peterson (Coaches Choice)

“Great to see our kids receive postseason recognition for their efforts in the classroom and on the baseball field,” Norway coach Tony Adams said.
