Adams named first-team All-State in girls basketball

Norway senior Lauren Adams received first-team All-State honors in Division 4 as selected by a panel of 13 Michigan sports writers.

Ishpeming’s Jenessa Eagle was named Player of the Year while Ryan Reichel, also of Ishpeming, was selected Coach of the Year.

Eagle was joined by teammate Mya Hemmer on the All-State first team. Ewen Trout-Creek’s Bree Besonen earned first-team honors as well.

Adams led Norway to the Skyline Central Conference-Large title and an an MHSAA district championship. The Knights were defeated at the regional level by eventual Division 4 state champion Ishpeming.

Other first-team selections were Molly Walker of Kingston, Mia McGregor of Mio, Karis Terwilliger of Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart, Bradie Lehman of Concord, Emersyn Bachelder of Morenci, Addie Dzwik of Battle Creek St. Philip and Abby Bills of Litchfield.

Ewen-Trout Creek’s Emma Besonen was named to the second team and Kara Roberts of Baraga received honorable mention.
