Kingsford boys 2nd at Menominee meet
MENOMINEE — Fran Mellinger Track and Field played host to the 2026 Maroon Invitational on Tuesday, featuring seven Upper Peninsula teams.
Kingsford placed second in the boys competition and fourth in the girls meet.
Blake Tomasoski led the Kingsford boys with wins in the 1600-meter run (4:54.38) and the 3200 (10:43.18).
Cavin Mulligan won the 800-meter run (2:11.18) and joined Tomasoski, Kyle Kass and Orrin Smith in capturing the 4×800 relay (9:16.02).
The Flivvers added a win in the long jump from Gaige Sorenson (20′ 11″) and also got second-place finishes from Sid Olson in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles. Jack Cvengros was second in the long jump and Connor White took second in the shot put.
Kingsford’s Jaron Brown, Jr. placed third in the high jump and Mulligan added a third in the 1600.
In the girls meet, Kingsford’s Maria Murvich won the 1600 (5:47.93) and was third in the 3200.
Mylee Kreider, Staysha Jarski, Alyvia Kowalski and Ivy Van Ooyen teamed to take second place for the Flivvers in the 4×100 relay and third in the 4×200.
Kingsford’s Cassie Olson was third in the 800 and Kreider finished third in the long jump.
