Florence wrestlers nab postseason honors

Caitlyn Kelley was named the NLC’s female wrestler of the year after winning a state championship in the inaugural WIAA Girls State Individual Wrestling Tournament in late January. Teammate Sophia Wagner also put together a memorable season with a runner-up finish at the state individual tournament.
Florence freshman Breyson Kelley was selected to the all-Northern Lakes Conference team at 152 pounds. Kelley was also a state qualifier this season.
Other wrestlers picked to the all-conference team included Crandon freshman Mason Dewing (106), Crandon sophomore Elias Glinski (120), Crandon freshman Ty Dennee (126), Crandon senior Renn Marvin (132), Crandon junior Carsyn Mayer (138), Crandon junior Cole Shepherd (145), Laona-Wabeno-Three Lakes senior and NLC Wrestler of the Year Piersson Czaplinski (160), Laona-Wabeno-Three Lakes junior Ryan Roy (170), Laona-Wabeno-Three Lakes senior Frank Shepard III (182), Crandon junior Silas Dennee (195), Laona-Wabeno-Three Lakes junior Gus Frank (220) and Crandon sophomore Connor Lawrence (285).
Team-wise, Crandon won the conference championship.
