IRON MOUNTAIN — Numerous small businesses in the area are gearing up for the 15th annual Small Business Saturday. According to information provided by the Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority, Small Business Saturday was created by American Express in 2010, in response to the ongoing 2008 recession, to encourage people to shop at their local businesses. Criticizes actions on fair board, 4-H

I just read the article, “Dickinson returns fair board to 11 members.” It sounded to me that the board is going to remove two members because they didn’t like their opinion. I don’t know if these people are paid but I do know everyone who gives their time to make decisions for the fair loves the fair. I wonder if the board wants to make it so difficult for people to want to volunteer so different opinions are never heard. I think this is a slippery slope and the board should be careful.
