NIAGARA, Wis. — In an era of segregation and deep racial division, Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s challenged America to live up to its ideals of “liberty and justice for all.” They sought to overcome hatred with love, injustice with sacrifice and violence with nonviolence. IRON MOUNTAIN —The Dickinson Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel will meet Thursday, Dec. 12, at Pine Grove Country Club for its Christmas party. IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain area Finnish American Raja Ryhma Border Group will have its annual Pikkujoulu gathering on Saturday, Dec. 7. All are welcome to join in the fun at the Recreation Lanes Antoine Room in Iron Mountain.
