Safer with guns?

Oh my. All those people opposing gun safety laws showed up at the same Dickinson County Board meeting. What are the odds? I guess those with a differing view somehow missed the memo. As to making this a “gun sanctuary county,” I would only point out that in this country, we expect enforcement of all laws, not only those with which we agree. (If someone really believes a law is unconstitutional, there is a remedy for that — it’s called the judicial system.) EDITOR: It was announced Monday that Michigan State University is investigating the leak of the head football coach Mel Tucker debacle. As if that matters right now, considering the turmoil encompassing the university, but it does not surprise me. I worked at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh when I went to college there and believe me administrators are fabulous at trying to sweep problems under the rug and keeping them hidden. Whitmer should consider options on health coverage

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has spoken publicly about her intention to protect Michiganders from unscrupulous insurance companies who try to weasel out of paying for essential health services. However, any action the governor chooses to take will have no bearing on employer-based health insurance. Instead of using the Democrat-controlled Michigan State Legislature to accomplish these ends, the governor may want to consider another option that will benefit all Michiganders equally.
