Don’t fall for fearmongering

Often labels are placed on people because there is a lack of knowledge about them. Abdul El-Sayed is a person who has inherited such labels, just as other political candidates before him have. Barack Obama couldn’t possibly be president, supposedly he was foreigner. That was the excuse in lieu of being overtly racist. We couldn’t possibly have a woman president. I read with interest the quote from “AOC” (U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.), made during a visit this month in Iron Mountain. “It’s not the left and the right that divides us. It’s the top versus the bottom.” Really? The mentality behind that view is “You have more than I do. There is a huge, misleading billboard on Carpenter Avenue that is intentionally deceptive. Members of the Republican Party want you to think that Democrats and their party’s candidates want to change the United States to a socialist country. That could not be further from the truth. Trump has closer ties to Communism

Thank the Republican party for alerting us to Communism in their billboard on Carpenter Avenue. Yet the truth of the matter is that our president has more connections to once-Communist Russia than anybody else. The newspaper for the Communist regime was Pravda, its propaganda arm.
