How is this child abuse?

I just heard on a news broadcast that many parents are saying that forcing children to wear face masks to school to prevent the transmission of the COVID virus is child abuse. Help me understand this. I have also heard that in some of the areas where the parents are resisting masking, the transmission rate is up thousands of percentage points and many children are being hospitalized, and a number of them are dying. What does the flag represent?

EDITOR: Is the American flag representative of the ideals set in the preamble of the Constitution? The preamble stresses the belief that all people are equally entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It seems to me that tribalism and gross inequity in opportunity and access to the means of ensuring those things — through voting, education, respect for those different than you in some way, and support when needed — are toxic to democracy and the flag of our country. No dine-in meals yet for Niagara senior citizens

EDITOR: Clarification: Yes, the Niagara Senior Center has closed permanently. The Niagara Meal Site, run by the Marinette Elderly Services of Crivitz and housed in what was the senior center, is currently preparing and delivering meals to those who are homebound, or you may call and pick up there. However, the dine-in will open when it has been determined the COVID-19 has been determined safe for in-person meeting. You may still continue to contact the meal site at 715-251-1603. Thank you. Sen. McBroom deserves respect

EDITOR: State Sen. Ed McBroom recently released his eight-month-long report on voter fraud concerns for the state and found no fraud occurred. Yet the past president will not acknowledge the report and posts the senator’s name and phone number online, and informs his followers to call the senator. (In other words, harass him.) Veterans groups need new blood

To fellow veterans: Veterans groups in area communities need participation from National Guard and Reservists, veterans of all wars, Legionnaires, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Vietnam Veterans of America. Veterans organizations do a number of tasks in the region. Alger County Action has awaited the results of the Michigan Senate Oversight Committee’s months-long investigation into the integrity of the November 2020 general election results with skepticism. Our organization is not often in agreement with our state Sen. Ed McBroom (R-Waucedah Township) who, as chair of the committee, led the investigation. In the past, Sen.
