HERMANSVILLE — The Frank Rodman Community Club in Hermansville will be the site of the Upper Peninsula Trappers Association’s 18th annual Trappers Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 4. There will be several local veteran trappers on hand willing to share tips, techniques, and stories of their experiences in the capture of furbearers from 8 a.m. to about 4 p.m. Admission is free and food and refreshments will be available. IRON MOUNTAIN — Ice conditions vary after recent warm weather, but the forecast calls for lower temperatures by the middle of next week. Anglers were reporting 8 inches to more than a foot of ice. There was also slush in some areas. “Northern pike fishing has been good,” said Fay Whisler at Whisler Outdoors in Florence, Wis. “Some nice-sized catches have been reported.” The walleye bite has been slow.
