GFWC sets meeting for November, December

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Clubs has announced the regular November and December meetings will be at the Chippewa Club in Iron Mountain. Stamp club meets Tuesday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Fellowship Room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain. The church is between Domino’s Pizza and Slumberland Furniture. A short business meeting and educational program will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. Geology club to have final 2025 meeting

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the lower level of the Florence Natural Resource Center. All ages are welcome to attend what will be the final meeting of the year; the club plans to resume in April. Drawings for door prizes take place at the end of the meeting. Election of new officers will take place. They will also have a rock identification session. Attendees are encouraged to bring specimens in to see what they have. Post 50 to host fish fry tonight

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 of Iron Mountain will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today at the hall. Customers will have a choice of a three-piece cod, eight breaded, five-piece Alaskan walleye (pollock) or all-you-can-eat smelt dinner. The meals will also include fries or homemade chips, baked beans and cole slaw. Dine-in or takeout is available. For more information or to place an order, call 906-774-5797.
