Northwood Geology Club sets first meeting of the year

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will begin its 2025 meetings starting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Meetings are on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Florence Natural Resource Center, 5638 Forestry Drive in Florence. Those attending should use the back parking lot and enter into the lower level. Meetings take place April through October. The club was formed in 2008 by people who have an interest in rocks and minerals. Potential new members are always welcome. FLORENCE, Wis. — The Glacial Gardeners annual Plant Sale fundraiser will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 31, in the pole barn at the Florence County Fairgrounds on County Road N, just south of Florence. Please note, this is not Memorial Day weekend as in past years. The event takes place rain or shine. Post 145 breakfast on Sunday

NORWAY — The American Legion Post 145 of Norway will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the hall.
