Sons of the Union meeting on Saturday

MARQUETTE — The Upper Peninsula Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will meet at 11 a.m. Eastern time Saturday at the Family Search Center in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 350 Cherry Creek Road, Marquette. Glacial Gardeners seeking new members

FLORENCE, Wis. — Glacial Gardeners, a regional gardening group formed in 1997, is seeking new members. Meetings are at 5 p.m. on the second Monday of every month in the lower level conference room at the Florence Natural Resource Center in Florence. All are welcome to attend a meeting to learn more about the group, becoming a member and how they can help with a community and/or school project. Enchanted Doll Club to meet Thursday

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. — The Enchanted Doll Club of the Northwoods will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, in the meeting room of the Kalmar Senior Center, 1100 N. Railroad St. in Eagle River. Judy Wainwright will present a program on the Sasha doll, created by Sasha Morgenthaler. These dolls were produced in Germany and England and were first sold in 1965. These dolls have been very popular with American collectors of modern dolls. The doll club welcomes guests at all their meetings. Beechwood Historical Society plans annual Spring Plant Sale May 16-17

BEECHWOOD — The annual Beechwood Historical Society Spring Plant Sale pre-order form is now available. Anyone interested can pre-order for May 16-17 pickup at the greenhouses, 6340 U.S. 2 in Beechwood, 10 miles west of Iron River. Payment is due at time of pickup. Spaghetti dinner fundraiser in Norway

NORWAY — The Norway-Vulcan Women’s Club spaghetti and meatball dinner fundraiser will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at the Crossroads Alliance Church in Norway. The menu will include spaghetti and meatballs, a salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for children age 5 and younger. This year, the club has added an used book sale to take place in conjunction with the dinner. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship and community projects. The Crossroads Alliance Church is at 130 Odill Drive in Norway.
