Women’s Club book sale to begin today

IRON MOUNTAIN — The annual Book Sale sponsored by the Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Club will be today through Friday at the Midtown Mall in Iron Mountain. Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Thursday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. This is the club’s major fundraising activity for the year, so the public is asked to consider making a purchase of books or other items from this event.

Stamp club meets April 15

IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in the Fellowship Room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain. The church is located between Domino’s Pizza and Slumberland Furniture. A short business meeting and educational program, will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. Spaghetti dinner fundraiser set

NORWAY — The Norway-Vulcan Women’s Club annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Crossroads Alliance Church hall on Odill Drive in Norway. Cost is $12 for adults and children 12 and older; $6 for ages 6 to 11. Children five and younger eat free. Proceeds from the dinner go to help support the annual NHS Scholarship Fund. Florence historical group to meet

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County Historical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Olive Avenue. Those planning to attend should note the time change. They will continue to meet at the church until the warmer weather permits. The meeting will discuss summer events. With the museum opening Saturday, June 14, the exhibit honoring Vietnam veterans will be finalized. IRON RIVER TOWNSHIP — The Iron Area Health Foundation will host a Wellness Wednesday presentation Wednesday at Young’s in Iron River Township. The presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m., with Philip Hefner-Gardiepy speaking on mental well-being. He is the health training coordinator and recipient rights officer at Northpointe Behavioral Healthcare System in Kingsford. The event will include a presentation and opportunity for questions.
