IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain will host a monthly birding club from 10 to 11:30 a.m. starting Saturday. Programmer Emily Cummings is thrilled to be starting the club. Cummings says she has wanted to start this program for a while and is excited to kick it off at the start of spring. All summer long the club will meet on the first Monday of every month and is open to adults and children in third grade and older. IRON RIVER TOWNSHIP — The Beechwood Historical Society will host a Soup and Salad Bar fundraiser Saturday at the Beechwood Hall. A variety of soups, fixings for a salad, bread, dessert and beverage will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. The all-you-can-eat dinner is $10 per person. They will also have a 50-50 drawing. The event is a fundraiser to heat the buildings. The hall is on 178 Beechwood Store Road, off U.S. 2, about 7.5 miles west of Iron River.
