Beechwood Historical Society plans annual Spring Plant Sale May 16-17

BEECHWOOD — The annual Beechwood Historical Society Spring Plant Sale pre-order form is now available. Anyone interested can pre-order for May 16-17 pickup at the greenhouses, 6340 U.S. 2 in Beechwood, 10 miles west of Iron River. Payment is due at time of pickup. The greenhouses will be open to the public May 18 until the plants are gone. For a copy of the pre-order form, email beechwoodhistoricalsociety@gmail.com. Those who ordered last year will receive an email.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser in Norway

NORWAY — The Norway-Vulcan Women’s Club spaghetti and meatball dinner fundraiser will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at the Crossroads Alliance Church in Norway. The menu will include spaghetti and meatballs, a salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for children age 5 and younger. This year, the club has added an used book sale to take place in conjunction with the dinner. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship and community projects. The Crossroads Alliance Church is at 130 Odill Drive in Norway.

Women’s Club book sale to begin today

IRON MOUNTAIN — The annual Book Sale sponsored by the Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Club will be today through Friday at the Midtown Mall in Iron Mountain. Sale hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Thursday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. This is the club’s major fundraising activity for the year, so the public is asked to consider making a purchase of books or other items from this event.

Stamp club meets April 15

IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in the Fellowship Room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain. The church is located between Domino’s Pizza and Slumberland Furniture. A short business meeting and educational program, will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction.
