Iron County Genealogical Society meets on Thursday

IRON RIVER — The Iron County Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the J. Patrick White Conference Room at the West Iron District Library. The group will be conducting a business meeting, including reviewing the new bylaws and membership form. Members and guests are encouraged to bring in your recent finds, whether it be oral, postcards, letters, articles, photos, artifacts or other memorabilia to share. Visitors are welcome. IRON MOUNTAIN — The General Federation of Women’s Club will meet at noon Friday at Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain. The program will be a recognition of all past presidents and honoring the former Women of Achievement/Ms. Federation recipients. The menu features a “Lenten Luncheon,” of a grilled cheese sandwich and wild rice and mushroom soup. Fish fry Friday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the hall. The dinners will include a choice of three-piece cod, eight fried shrimp or smelt during Lenten season, along with fries and homemade chips, baked beans and cole slaw. Cost is $14 per plate. Dine-in or takeout is available.

K of C fish bake Friday in Kingsford

KINGSFORD — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Knights of Columbus Bishop Baraga Council 1585 will begin its annual Lenten fish bakes. The Lenten meals will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday and on April 11 at the hall, 520 W. Breitung Ave. in Kingsford. Dinner includes baked cod, mashed or baked potato, cole slaw, dinner roll and dessert. Cost of the meal is $15 for adults, $7 for children 5 to 12 and free for ages 5 and younger. The public is welcome.
